Post-Treatment Instructions

  • It is preferable not to cleanse or apply any creams to your skin until the morning after your peel.

  • Apply sunscreen after your peeling application if you will be exposed to the sun. If you intend being indoors, apply nothing to the skin until the morning. Protect your skin at all times by covering up with a light scarf and wearing a sun hat.

  • The day following your peeling application: You may cleanse and apply makeup. Follow your normal skin care regiment. Should extreme irritation, itching, swelling, hives, or redness occur, discontinue the use of all actives. Active and irritating ingredients include but are not limited to: Salicylic acid (BHA), Alpha Hydroxy Acids (AHA), Glycolic Acid, Lactic Acid, Benzoyl Peroxide, Alcohol, and highly fragranced products. Avoid using these until all sensitivity has resolved.

  • Benadryl may be taken for swelling or extreme itching. You may ice your face and eyes to calm swelling. Over the counter cortisone may be applied topically for a maximum of 2 days, for itch.

  • Do not overcompensate by using rich emollients or thick occlusive creams, even though the skin may seem dry. The object is to flake.
