Face Reality Acne Facial:
Post-Treatment Instructions

It is a myth that acne prone skin should avoid moisturizing. In fact, hydrated skin will be less prone to clogging and will allow your esthetician to perform extractions more easily. Try to come to your facial with a strong skin barrier. This may mean giving your skin a break from strong actives the night before your treatment if your skin has been feeling dry. Also drink plenty of water and use hydrating products like Face Reality Barrier Balance creamy Cleanser, Hydrabalance and Face Reality Moisturizers. Avoid picking your own skin. This can lead to wounds on the skin that may prevent your esthetician from doing a chemical peel and can also spread infection under the skin and leave pigmented marks.

After your treatment your skin may be more sensitive, red and drier than normal. If this is the case stop all actives (Sal C toner, Mandelic serum, acne med) until your skin feels back to normal usually only a day or two following your treatment. Use sunscreen daily and follow any suggestions your esthetician gave you.
